On prepared surfaces that are black and clear gessoed, you will create compositions of paint, pastels and image transfers. Working with wet and dry pastels and other colorants you will build layers of fabulous design and texture. Stenciling techniques, gelli prints and simple print making are added to the mix for unique creations.
This fun, creative and colorful workshop include three lunches. Pair this workshop with the International Folk Art Museum's International Folk Art Market!

BARBARA DIAMOND
Barbara is originally from New York City. She has lived in New Mexico and Colorado her adult life. Trained as a handmade paper artist, she now works in large paper mache sculptures and out of the box collages. An avid collector of papers, bought, found and prepared, she integrates these with fibers and fabrics in her collage pieces.
She has been on faculty at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center's Bemis School of Art for 23 years and teaches at various schools in the vicinity. She has been on faculty at Pikes Peak Community College as well. Barbara has recently been selected to be the Artist-in-Residence through the Makers Program at 21C, the most progressive library center in the Pikes Peak region.
This is Barbara's third year teaching with Art Spa Workshops.
