Photography continues to come of age as a truly democratic method of communication. Almost everyone now has access to this magical medium and actively use it to share experiences in everyday life. Yet we often have difficulty bridging the gap between our distinct individual visual voice and our ability to harness that uniqueness to its full potential. As a result, we struggle to elevate our photographs to a higher level of personal depth, eloquence, meaning, and visual impact.
In this two-and-a-half day workshop, Eduardo guides participants on a journey to become aware of their own visual accent, to bring this awareness to the forefront of their intention and creative process, and to begin channeling it into their photographic images. Through engaging group exercises and discussions in the field, we identify and explore elements within the visual stream of the world around us, discovering how they can be employed as instruments to further accentuate our unique perception and photographic interpretation.
Come prepared to expand your comfort zone, discover a wealth of resources that are always available to you, and begin a new chapter in your own visual journey!
For simplicity, we use no more than five specifically relevant tools—our emphasis is on the organic process of perception and presence, not the complexities of imaging tools and techniques.
Meet in the classroom this morning for your first edit-and-critique session with your instructors. After lunch, set off for Abiquiu to photograph the spectacular landscape near Ghost Ranch, the former home of Georgia O'Keeffe. The artist drew inspiration from these sandstone mesas and buttes, banded in rich reds and yellows, and depicted them often in her paintings. Then gather for a festive group dinner tonight. - See more at: http://www.nationalgeographicexpeditions.com/expeditions/santa-fe-photo-workshop/detail#sthash.62XTLr1F.dpuf
Join us in the pristine land of Sedona, Arizona best known for natural healing and spiritual awakening.
Each of us has a vision, a unique way of seeing that we alone own. Often we put that vision on the back burner because we get caught up in the technical aspects of our craft.
During this workshop, we will work with you to find your inner voice, your inner vision and what it is that catches your attention when you are at one with the world around you. This workshop will take you from the fast paced world you live in to a place where you can share your dreams, fears and images with other women in a relaxed and fun environment.
Self actualization and meditation combined with creative exercises will help deepen your inner vision so that you can connect better with your inner artist. With these exercises we hope that you are able to develop the skills to find and capture amazing images that you can further work on using your software or apps of choice or to use as reference material for paintings or other art forms.
We will have plenty of one-on-one time for each participant to work with us on what is holding you back. This can include camera settings, composition, post-processing and image critique. There will also be plenty of relaxation time if you desire it.
This workshop is geared towards any level of photography. We follow the motto...the best camera is the one you have with you. This can range from the full set-up to a smartphone with apps. We will help you make the most of what you have.
