Courageously Creative Artist Workshops
Workshops Developed Specifically for Women
“Remember that life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!” -Anonymous
•Does your head get in the way of your creativity?
•Does having more focus on creativity, connection and imagination resonate with you?
•Do you wish you were more "courageously creative"?
•Have you felt creatively disconnected/stifled and now want to embark on finding a more focused true
authentic and creative self?
•Do you get caught up with the technical aspects of photography and lose inspiration?
•Do you have great ideas swimming around in your head but just don't know how to bring them to fruition?
If you have answered yes to any of these questions, our Courageously Creative Workshop is perfect for you.
In a world of chaotic demands, life pulls us in many different directions. It can be difficult to focus on what is necessary for your creative life to flourish. However, when you quiet an overtaxed mind and become “present”, you will then be able to find your inspiration and tap into your inner artistic vision. Trust your intuition and become the creative, productive soul you have dreamt of being!
In our Courageously Creative Workshops, you will meet other creative women on a similar quest. We encourage you to step away from your preconceptions of creativity and embrace an attitude of openness while you reconnect with your intuition and learn to focus deeply and authentically. Through guided self exploration, you will learn to see with your heart, explore new thoughts and attitudes with regard to your own art, and inspire imagination and connection between yourself and your camera.
“Don't wait for the ship to come in, swim out to meet it." - Cathy Hopkins
Each of workshops will each be different although most will incorporate meditation and breathing techniques along with yoga and fun creative exercises to help you connect with your artistic soul. These workshops will be about finding beauty in the world around you by learning how to really see and feel. We will offer many opportunities for one-on-one time that will allow you to sit with either one of us. During this time, we can work with you on anything that interests you from image critique, post processing, camera settings, composition or even just chatting about life and creative paths.
Each person is going to have a unique experience in our workshops and take different things home with them. Our intentions are to create the best workshop for you and thus we hope to help you with the following ideas:
“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun!" -Mary Lou Cook
Who are our workshops are for?
YOU, the professional photographer or YOU, the obsessed amateur. Even YOU, the smartphone photographer who knows that the best camera is the one that is with you. But it is also for the YOU who wants to experience all or even some of the things that we mentioned above.
Join me for one of these unique workshops open to women who are looking to reconnect with their creative spirit. Often, depending on the size of the workshop, I will be teaching with my colleague, Paige Eden. The goal of our workshop is to learn how to recognize and trust your intuition, to help you develop your vision, and realize your personal artistic journey. As lifelong professional photographers, we emphasize personal style and artistic express. As artists, our creativity is not limited to what a cold, mechanical device such as a camera can see. Creativity begins with first seeing, then capturing and finally enhancing the photographs using software or traditional techniques.
