I photographed this image in the mountains outside of Crested Butte, Colorado, where the groves are large and strong with thick undergrowth of ferns and other plants that change with the dropping temperature.

“The Birds” was created from three different digital images I captured while in Arizona. An interesting dead tree attracted these birds who would fly to and from it while making quite a ruckus with their mating calls.
