About Our Instructors

Cande Toner

Cande first became acquainted with a vegetarian lifestyle at the age of 16. Since then she has been interested in the nutrition side of the Whole Food lifestyle. Being an artist by trade for 25 years, she brings her creative abilities to preparing Whole Food Plant Based meals.

She is a former member of the Wellness Forum and holds a Certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from the T Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies through eCornell University.

As and avid organic vegetable gardener for over 40 years, Cande is a member of the Santa Fe Master Gardeners Association. She also serves of the board of directors for the Santa Fe Artists Market as Vice President/Treasurer.

Years of baking and cooking experience has afforded Cande the ability to develop her own recipes and to modify existing recipes to be compatible with a Whole Food, Plant Based way of eating. Experienced at conducting art workshops, she brings these skills to the kitchen and enjoys teaching others about health through nutrition.

Christine has lived her life as a visual artist, loving everything related to creativity including photography, mixed media and culinary arts.  When presented with the opportunity to take an Arizona cafe to new heights, she welcomed the challenge. As a seven year newcomer to the vegetarian lifestyle, she began by offering homemade, farm to table dishes in the cafe, eventually finding a way to offer a diversity of food that is required by the American consumer. As a vegetarian, she soon realized that with the right flavors, even the most hard core meat eaters find her vegetarian food amazing.

Christine has been the chef at Art Spa Workshops since its inception. The participants are excited to be able to try new foods and love being introduced to the Whole Food Plant Based way of living and eating.

Along with managing a busy cafe, she caters small parties and offers hands on cooking instruction as well as prepares healthy vegetarian meals for individuals and families.
